Why Fred Kundrata wants to represent Ohio’s 1st

My name is Fred Kundrata, I am the Democratic nominee for U.S. Congress in Ohio’s 1st District challenging incumbent Republican Steve Chabot.

I believe in America. I believe in America’s institutions and our Constitution. I am proud to have served my country as a pilot in the United States Air Force. But, I worry because America’s system of institutions only succeed when it is guided by leaders who act responsibly – leaders who put the common good before any individual claims. We need our leaders to bring people together to solve today’s difficult challenges in our changing world.

I am running for the United States Congress because I want to serve the people of Ohio’s 1st District and bring real change to the U.S. Congress.

Fred Kundrata brings strength of character and NEW, BOLD and POSITIVE leadership to Ohio's 1st District. It's time for a change that makes your life better!

  • Promoting Peace and Keeping America Safe
  • Laser Focus on Jobs Creation for a Strong Economy
  • Expand Middle Class through Targeted Programs
  • Strongly Support Public Education
  • Protect and Expand Veteran's Rights
  • Standing Up For Our Senior Citizens
  • Protect and Secure Women's Rights
  • Strengthen Worker's Rights
  • Protect Our Environment
  • Securing Healthcare and Social Security

When I am elected, I will seek two committee assignments in the U.S. Congress, one on the Education & Labor Committee and one on the Transportation Committee.

We must focus all our effort on creating a strong economy – an economy that creates new family wage jobs. Working families must be the priority; they are the backbone of Ohio and America.

There are too many U.S. Representatives, today, who have turned their backs on America's middle-class. These same Representatives appear to favor the idea of the wealthy becoming wealthier and supporting large corporate profits at the expense of expanding the middle class.

This nation has a declining manufacturing base and crumbling infrastructure, which is increasingly hurting America’s competitiveness. However, the Republican Leadership pushes for further tax cuts to the wealthy, instead of investing in new manufacturing opportunities and repairing America’s infrastructure.

I will create a Jobs Leadership Team that will bring together Labor, Business, Elected Officials and Community Leaders to focus on job creation and reinvesting in America’s infrastructure.

Labor Unions were the backbone of the worker's rights revolution that created the middle class. I believe we must strengthen Labor Unions that will in turn help restore the middle class – a win win for our communities, businesses, Labor, working families and America!

I am looking forward to meeting many of you in the next months as I listen to your concerns and offer my plans to advocate for federal funds and legislation to rebuild Cincinnati's vital infrastructure of the sewers, roads, bridges, rail, and waterways; revitalize our transportation and commerce hub; continue the growth of the OTR Gateway; promote fairness and justice in the work place for each of us to enjoy the fruits of our labor with a fair, livable wage, including equal pay for women who earn less than their male counterparts; allow common-sense, family care benefits and protections for men and women to care for a child or elderly parent if necessary; improving our public schools; saving Medicare and social security; and for creating jobs coupled with much needed education and training, especially for the long-term unemployed leading to business growth, and so much more.  I believe working together for opportunities is best for all as we lift each other up for a better tomorrow. Let’s work together for change.

My name is Fred Kundrata, I am the Democratic nominee running for the United States Congress. I believe in America; I ask for your vote on Tuesday, November 4th, 2014 in the general election.
